Spring 2- What did the dinosaurs look like?

The Nursery team are so excited about this term’s new learning.

We will be time travelling to a time long, long ago, as we begin to understand the passing of time and its associated language such as ‘yesterday, last evening, last week, today and tomorrow’. We will be looking at the past and will be learning how to fit events in the past on to a Timeline. All this will supported by our dinosaur topic- and we cannot wait!

As part of World Book Week the children enjoyed dressing up as their favourite book characters. The teaching team were impressed with choice of characters the children chose with many choosing characters from our previously read stories such as Little Red Riding Hood and Shark in the Park.

The children have been so excited about the dinosaurs topic this term and have been so enthusiastic about their new learning and skills. We have been practising our mark making by writing our names. Each of the children have been ‘responsible’ for looking after a chosen dinosaur and have written a name tag so we all know who is looking after it. We have all been working on multisyllabic words, as we have discovered, some dinosaur names are really hard to say!

We have been learning about colour mixing through making our own playdough each week. The children are really quite proficient at mixing primary colours to make secondary colours.
